Brooke Nelson: Town of West Hartford
Brooke Nelson is with the Town of West Hartford (CT), Operations Manager with the Department of Public Works. She manages enterprise funds for the Town, including Municipal Parking Division. Trained as an engineer, Brooke enjoys exploring emerging technologies to address contemporary issues that resonate with many municipalities. It is challenging and rewarding to tackle opportunities such as curbside management, walkability and climate change. Prior to working with the public sector, she was with fortune 100 companies in industrial power generation.
Brooke serves on the board of NEPTC as a labor of love and a contribution to the profession. As co-chair of Municipal Forum, she curates and delivers series of educational seminars focusing on topics of interests to cities and towns: Intelligent Mobility: Using Mobility Hub as Platform for Shared Services, Somerville MA (2025); The A to Z of EV Charging, Medford MA (2024); Open Mobility Standards and Income-Tiered EV Carshare, West Hartford CT (2023). Brooke holds a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.
